Bought a book yesterday, “Recovering from Losses in Life” by grief and trauma counselor, H. Norman Wright.

In the first few pages, he writes about ‘losses’ being a normal part of life, and yet the pain, if not properly processed by the soul, can later on compound into depression.

“[Loss] hurts. And it hurts even more because we have not been taught to expect or how to handle the losses of life.”
A word of hope:

“Loss. It’s a simple four-letter word that is one of our common companions throughout life… Yet with each and every loss comes the potential for change, growth, new insights, understanding and refinement…”

Finally,

“Lord, be generous with me and I’ll live a full life; not for a minute will I take my eyes off your road.
Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders.
I’m a stranger in these parts; give me clear directions…

” My sad life’s dilapidated, a falling-down barn; build me up again by your Word.
Barricade the road that goes Nowhere; grace me with your clear revelation.
I choose the true road to Somewhere ...”

Yes, I choose today the road to Somewhere…
